We are thrilled to share that one of our community leaders represented ASTPP in the recent ClueCon event, which was conducted online. The event is named as ClueCon Weekly and it was held by SignalWire in 2021 and ASTPP Participated in ClueCon.

ClueCon is a well known event in the VoIP industry. The ClueCon Weekly is a virtual event in which the representatives of FreeSWITCH and SignalWire interview VoIP experts across the globe and give them a platform to share their experience and expertise with the viewers. This year Mr. Luca Pradovera is hosting the event and interviewing the VoIP experts across the globe in different episodes of ClueCon Weekly

In one of the episodes of the latest season of ClueCon Weekly, Luca interviewed Mr. Samir Doshi, who is a community leader of ASTPP and Co-founder and Director of iNextrix Technologies Pvt. Ltd. He represented ASTPP and answered some really interesting questions related to ASTPP and its journey from an Asterisk to prepaid billing solution to a smart telephony platform based in FreeSWITCH.

Samir has 11+ years of experience working with different VoIP solutions and leading an IT company based out of India. Samir and Arpit, Co-founders and Directors of iNextrix Technologies Pvt. Ltd has been managing and maintaining ASTPP since 2013.

In 2013, ASTPP had two models, one in Asterisk and another in FreeSWITCH and zero community members. The original version of ASTPP used Perl and Asterisk. As per the research made by Samir and his team, the FreeSWITCH version of the ASTPP was a bit more stable compared to the Asterisk version. Moreover, people and companies used to be more interested in FreeSWITCH back in 2013, which is why Samir and his team decided to carry forward this project in the FreeSWITCH platform.

After taking over the platform, the first stable version of the ASTPP VoIP billing solution was released in 2014. This had encouraged some community members and ex users of this VoIP billing solution to come forward and contribute to the community again. They had helped in fixing some bugs by raising them, contributing to the code, as well as, defining the roadmap.

According to Samir, people have become less contributing towards open source VoIP solutions with time, which is why to survive the platform and the team and community of ASTPP, they have launched the ASTPP enterprise version. The funds collected through the ASTPP enterprise version get used in the empowerment and enhancement of the open source version of ASTPP.

Samir had explained that now ASTPP is a single platform that offers an array of VoIP solutions such as an IP PBX solution, fax server solution, etc. This is the only platform that has introduced the concept of add-ons in the VoIP industry.

The community of ASTPP is looking forward to adding more valuable add-ons to this platform and encourage people to use this concept to add new features.

Along with all this important information, Samir had also discussed market size and target market of ASTPP and some more interesting information in his interview.
